The City of Greensburg, in partnership with HWC Engineering, has awarded contracts to Schutte Excavating for the reconstruction and enhancement of Washington Street from Franklin Street to Monfort Street. This project, funded by a Community Crossings Matching Grant from INDOT, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, The Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, and local match, is scheduled to take place from October 2024- September 2025 in multiple phases. Fire Chief

Greensburg Fire Department Chief Nathan Stoermer

Nathan A. Stoermer, an 18 year veteran of the emergency services was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. Chief Stoermer has held all ranks on the fire service as he progressed throughout his career. Chief Stoermer is returning home to Indiana from Kansas where he was serving as the Assistant Fire Chief for the City of Eudora. Stoermer holds a bachelor's degree in Fire Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and an associate's in Paramedic Science from Ivy Tech State College. Chief Stoermer holds the Chief Fire Officer designation, one of only 18 in Indiana. Chief Stoermer also holds numerous fire and EMS certifications. Stoermer is also a currently attending the National Fire Academy to complete the Executive Fire Officer program and extensive four year program for fire service executives.
