The City of Greensburg will close US 421 from State Road 3 to N. Park Street beginning Monday, December 9 for utility line replacement between Lakeview Street and N. Park Street. Please take alternate routes to avoid construction. The official detour is State Road 3 to State Road 46/Main Street. The closure is expected to last until Monday, December 16, but is subject to change. Greensburg Police Department: The men and women of the Greensburg Police Department are committed to providing a professional community-oriented department and to creating and maintaining an active community partnership while assisting citizens in identifying and solving problems to improve the quality of lives in our neighborhoods. We are dedicated to protecting life, and property, and maintaining order while assuring fair and equal treatment to everyone.

Greensburg Fire Department: The Greensburg Fire Department takes pride in serving and protecting the citizens of the City of Greensburg and Washington Township in Decatur County. Since 1874, our department has specialized in providing quality fire suppression, basic life support, non-transport EMS, and hazardous materials response.

Utilities: The Utilities Office is comprised of Utility billing, the Water Treatment Plant, and the Wastewater Treatment plant. Pay your bills, schedule service, and check reports by visiting our Utilities page.

Engineering, Building, and Zoning: The Building, Planning; and Zoning Department deals with city planning, zoning, new building construction, and permits. BPZ also notifies building and property owners of out-of-control grass and weeds and takes complaints on abandoned buildings.

Street Department: The Street Department maintains all city streets, which includes street cleaning, snow plowing, repairs, overlaying, cleaning, and repairing storm drains and inlets. The Street Department is also responsible for sanitation, trash pick up, and street signs and lights.
