Greensburg, Ind. — Decatur County Dispatch received a call from an address in the 400 block of W. North St. at approximately 3:00am on 7/2/2025. Greensburg Police Department Officers responded and spoke to residents and witnesses in the area. Statements were made that Ethan Pierce (40), of Metamora and known to the occupants, broke through a window armed with a rifle. Occupants of the residence fled the residence and hid in the area. Peirce exited the residence back through the same window and left the area. Officers with the Greensburg Police Department and Decatur County Sheriff’s Department worked through the night and into the next day to locate Pierce. Pierce was located and arrested in Shelby County at approximately 8:00am by officers of the Shelbyville Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
Pierce has been charged with the following crimes and is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Ct. 1 – Burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 2 Felony
Ct. 2 – Intimidation while drawing a deadly weapon, a level 5 Felony
Ct. 3 – Criminal reckless while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 6 Felony
Ct. 4 – Pointing a Firearm, a level 6 Felony
