As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the milestones that we, the City of Greensburg, have achieved together as a community. 2025 has been a year of historic momentum for Greensburg.
From constructing and opening the new trailhead at Rebekah Park, to securing record-breaking, historic funding for our roads and infrastructure, we have proven that the Tree City is growing every day. We cut ribbons on major projects and new businesses, broke ground on a new housing development at Liberty Lakes, secured additional housing options for market rate apartments in our downtown square, completed downtown improvements, continued to host outreach events, and solidified local, national, and international economic growth for our region.
But these ‘headlines’ are only a small part of the story. The true success of 2025 is found in the daily resilience and spirit of our community. It’s found in neighbors helping neighbors, our local health care workers and teachers, local entrepreneurs taking a chance and opening a new storefront, our numerous nonprofits, and the public servants who work around the clock to keep our community safe and running smoothly.
As we turn the page to 2026, we aren’t slowing down. We're entering the new year with a clear vision and a renewed commitment to innovative progress, safety, and quality of life.
I invite you to join me as I outline this vision in detail during my annual State of the City address. I will present this update to the Greensburg Rotary Club on February 16 at noon; at the Greensburg Decatur County Chamber of Commerce’s “Leaders and Lagers” event on February 17 at 4:00 p.m.; or during the Greensburg Optimist Breakfast Club meeting on Thursday, February 19 at 6:30 a.m.
For those unable to attend in person, we are committed to ensuring every resident has access to this information. A full digital version of the State of the City will be published online immediately following the presentation, available on the City of Greensburg’s official website and social media channels. I encourage you to watch, read, and engage with our plans for the coming year.
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your mayor. It is your trust and collaboration that makes our progress possible.
On behalf of the City of Greensburg and my family, I wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and a safe and prosperous 2026.
