Greensburg, IN - Mayor Joshua Marsh and Economic Development Corporation of Greensburg/Decatur County (EDCGDC) Director Bryan Robbins recently concluded a successful trade mission to Japan, strengthening international partnerships and unlocking new avenues for economic growth in Greensburg.

The recent visit to Japan was led by the South Central Indiana Economic Development Group (SCIED), and included city and economic development representatives from One Southern Indiana, Columbus, Bartholomew County, Seymour, Jennings County, Jackson County, Greensburg, and Decatur County. SCIED is a regional partnership available to provide specialized knowledge and assistance for companies and site selection consultants, of which Decatur County is a member.

This trip marks the first time in 15 years since leaders from Greensburg have been to Japan on a trade mission. During the weeklong trip, representation from Greensburg met with leadership and plant locations for NIPRO, GECOM, Honda, and Resonac Powdered Metals America, Inc. to discuss the ongoing economic relationship between our community and Japan and new potential opportunities for growth.

"Our friendship with Japan is more than just business—it's a shared journey built on respect and common goals," said Mayor Joshua Marsh. "To keep this bond strong, we must talk openly and continue to work together. By focusing on quality and innovation, we not only support our economic ties, but also show our commitment to excellence in manufacturing and industry. Let's use diplomacy to build bridges and face challenges together, ensuring that our continued relationship with Japan is a story of cooperation, respect, and a brighter future for all."
