The Street Department maintains all city streets, which includes street cleaning, snow plowing, repairs, overlaying, cleaning & repairing storm drains and inlets. The Street Department is also responsible for sanitation, trash pick up, and street signs and lights. If you would like to request a street closure for an event, please click here.

Spring Heavy Trash week is May 20-24, and is for residents on a city trash route. Heavy Trash is picked up on the same day as trash pick up. Residents are reminded to put heavy trash out on the curb a couple of days before pick up, and certain items are not permitted in heavy trash. Brush and yard waste will not be picked up during heavy trash. Flyers are sent out in utility bills, and an image of the flyer is below. Click here to view the PDF version.

Items not permitted in heavy trash are construction and demolition debris, tires, batteries, CFC appliances, electronics (computers, TV, monitors), household hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, mass quantities of recyclable materials, stone, dirt, brush, and loose unbagged trash.
