The Decatur County Park Board
meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Parks Office
Building. The public is invited to attend.
Our parks are located
in Decatur County Indiana. Our office is located in the city of Greensburg
Indiana. We are made up of nineteen parks providing opportunities for the
community. We have something for everyone. Each of the various parks feature
unique designs which may include some of the following: a skate board park,
swimming, basketball courts, softball and baseball diamonds, tennis courts,
horseshoe pits, playground equipment, picnic tables and shelter areas.
Sports activities and programs are designed to meet the needs of everyone and
all ages. Basketball leagues, volleyball leagues, softball leagues, youth
baseball, youth tackle football, youth soccer, the Tiger Sharks Swim Team,
Greensburg Power of the Past, the Easter Egg hunt and Open gym times are all
just a part of what the Decatur County Parks & Recreation offers and hosts
throughout their parks for Decatur County.
We have clean restroom facilities. Our parks have approved a tobacco free policy
that does not allow any smoking in any of the buildings.
If you are coming to Greensburg or
Decatur County, you will find plenty to do in our County Parks. You will find
baseball diamonds, picnic areas, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, shelter houses,
picnic tables, tennis courts, volleyball courts, boating, paddle boating,
fishing, a lake, basketball courts, a bowling alley and a swimming pool with a
water slide.

There are plenty of activities
such as: Men's Basketball League, Men's Outdoor Basketball League, Men's and
Women's Volleyball Leagues, Co-Ed Volleyball League, Men's and Girl's Softball
Leagues, Greensburg Youth Baseball, Youth Tackle Football, Youth Soccer,
Skate Boarding, Exercise-Weights Room, Square Dancing, Tiger Sharks Swim Team and the Greensburg
Power of the Past (this club hosts an antique farm machinery show at the Decatur
County Fairgrounds which is co-sponsored by the Decatur County Parks
Department.)
There is also the Decatur County
Parks and Recreation Department Building which has an exercise-weight room,
gymnasium, meeting room, game room and an alternative school classroom.
We offer a three-week camp for children with special needs in Decatur County.
The camp, under the direction of Brianna Kovacich is held at the Decatur County
Park in June. There is no charge for the program. Daily activities include
games, arts and crafts, swimming and more. Several local field trips are planned
to give the children a hands on learning experience. This year's Camp Rainbow is
being sponsored by the Decatur County Community Foundation.
